A service that allows a group of computers to interact with one another over radio waves rather than cable connections. This is accomplished by building an access point that distributes signals to connect existing networks inside an enterprise to machines that have wireless connectivity. A single access point can serve multiple computers, and the signal's radius depends on the obstructions in the region.

KSC's Wireless Solutions service communicates across a wireless network with IEEE 802.11 technology and the 2.4 GHz radio wave. In general, any model or brand of wireless communication equipment that adheres to the same standard can communicate without trouble. Such a device must be validated for product compatibility, displaying the Wi-Fi approved symbol and supporting the following five speed rates:

Standard Frequency Data Rate
802.11a 5.1 - 5.2 GHz 54 Mbps
802.11b 2.4 - 2.8 GHz 11 Mbps
802.11g 2.4 - 2.8 GHz 36 - 54 Mbps
802.11n 2.4 - 5 GHz 7.2 - 150 Mbps
802.11ac 5 GHz 7.2 - 866.7 Mbps

Benefits

For users
  • It is suitable for usage anywhere and at any time within the signal coverage area.
  • Supports use on a variety of operating systems. No other software installations are required.
  • Wireless communication devices are easily accessible and affordable.
For businesses that install wireless networks
  • Reduce the cost of indoor wiring in areas with limited space or that are unsuitable for wiring.
  • The service area or service point can be expanded, reduced, or updated as needed, at a lower cost than installing wired internet.
  • Wireless networks are simpler and less costly to operate than conventional Internet connections.
  • Setting up a wireless network requires less time.

Type of Service

Feature

The Hotspot Wireless Solution service creates a wireless network in areas where organizations or business owners want to provide internet access to the general public, such as condominiums, schools, offices, coffee shops, lounges, and so on. Users will be given a KSC Hotspot Pre-Paid Card online account, which includes a username and password for connecting to the wireless network in that location. Users can also use the internet account provided to connect to high-speed wireless internet at over 100,000 KSC Hotspot service locations nationwide. The network installer can also access utilization reports through the website.

Hotspot-type Wireless Solution services are appropriate for organizations or entrepreneurs that want to provide services to clients in premium service centers in order to improve the convenience of customers or executives who use wireless internet both within the organization and at customer reception areas. It is also more convenient for consumers to access their internet accounts from any KSC Hotspot service point.

Required Equipment

The equipment required to install a Hotspot-type Wireless Solution includes:
  1. Access Point Gateway It is an Access Point designed to deliver high-speed wireless Internet in public places (Public Hotspot), with the same features as normal Access Points found in homes or businesses. However, because the device must be located in a public area, it must be resistant to physical harm and capable of supporting a huge number of users, making it incredibly reliable. It also serves as a Hotspot Gateway via Wired Ethernet, therefore physical security is essential for preventing attacks on device connections.
  2. Switch (For additional requirements) It is a network device that connects the Router to the Access Point or allows you to add more Access Points dependent on the number of ports on the Switch.
  3. Access Point (For additional requirements) It is a medium device that sends signals to network devices with wireless connections, allowing them to communicate with one another. If you want to increase the number of access points on the network, you need to increase the number of switches.

Feature

Wireless Internet Services (Wireless Solutions) Private Wi-Fi refers to the installation of wireless network equipment in areas that require Internet privacy. It mostly focuses on internal use inside organizations. It comprises installing servers, Internet signal distribution equipment, and administration software to control Internet usage across the network in order to meet customer requirements. It also contains consumption control capabilities such as user administration (User Authentication), defining Internet usage privileges, maintaining individual usage quality, and managing usage data.

Private Wi-Fi service is a wireless internet service suitable for organisations or shops that require flexibility in internet management in order to provide convenience to employees or visitors, as well as the ability to check each user's previous internet usage data in accordance with the Computer Crime Act B.E. 2550.

The Private Wi-Fi system offers the following management:
  1. Prepaid and Postpaid User Management
    • Supports package management on an hourly, daily, and monthly basis.
    • Bandwidth Customize
    • User Self Registration
    • Lock the machine's Username and MAC Address.
    • Automatically generate and print user lists on A4 paper and carbon envelopes.
    • The billing system summarizes utilization for each month.
  2. Report display
    • Online Usage
    • Displays each user's historical usage data, as well as a summary usage report.
    • Graph of internet traffic.
    • User summary report for both prepaid and postpaid.
    • Network device performance monitoring system
  3. System Management
    • You can define general system information, such as changing the logo or announcement text.
    • Can add system controls such as Start, Stop, and Restart.
    • Multiple degrees of administrative privileges can be added and assigned.
  4. User Usage
    • The Login-Logout mechanism can provide use times and speeds.
    • The technology is capable of monitoring each user's behavior.
    • You can create your own login page. (extra charge)

Required Equipment

To install a Private Wi-Fi Wireless Solution, you'll need the following equipment:

  1. Wireless Access (Access Point)
An access point (AP) is a "wireless connection point" that connects all wireless devices (that follow the IEEE 802.11 standard) together. A professional Access Point (AP) may perform a variety of functions to guarantee that your wireless network fulfills all of your needs.
  2. Authentication Server
It functions as a database for user accounts, holding authentication information as well as other data like remaining wireless Internet usage time. The Authentication Server is placed on a different network than the Hotspot Gateway. For small networks, the Hotspot Gateway and Authentication Server can be coupled on a single device to simplify management.
