Wireless Solutions service is a technology that enables 2 computers or groups of computers to communicate with each other. In stead of using wire, the technology uses radio frequency to connect by setting up Access Point devices to distribute a signal in an area nearby. The signal is used for connecting the existed network in an organization to groups of computers which is wireless enabled. An Access Point device supports multi computer, the signal range depends on that area environment.

KSC Wireless Solutions connect wirelessly via IEEE 802.11 technology under 2.4 GHz radio frequency. Normally, any wireless enabled devices in the same standard are able to connect to each other no matter what their brand is. The wireless enabled devices must be certified the compatible connection, notices a Wi-Fi certified logo is displayed on the devices. There are 3 speeds of the technologies as following;

1. Hotspot (Public Service)

1.1 Features

The Hotspot Wireless Solution provides wireless network in the public area where organizations require to provide wireless Internet for end users as a public access i.e. condominiums, schools, offices, coffee shops, Lobby, etc. End user will receive an Internet account, KSC Hotspot Pre-paid card, which KSC is a username and password generator. The Internet account is able to connect a wireless Internet available at that place and other 30,000 KSC Hotspot locations nationwide.

The Hotspot Wireless Solution is suitable for organizations who require to facilitate their customers or executives to connect a premium wireless Internet in the back office or guest lobby. Also the account is able to use at every KSC Hotspot locations.

1.2 Required equipment

Required equipment for installing the Hotspot Wireless Solution is as following;

1. Access Point Gateway
   is an Access Point required for Public Hotspot which has the same qualifications as an Access Point used in a home or an office. However, as the device is installed outdoor, it is required to be physically durable and supports high connection from many users. The Access Point, therefore, must be reliable and works as a Hotspot Gateway via Wired Ethernet. The physical security is also important to prevent treats that may harm the connection.
2. Switch (optional)
   is a network device connecting a router to the Access Point. More than 1 Access Points can be connected depending on amounts of ports of the Switch.
3. Access Point (optional)
   is an Access Point delivering signals to other devices in the network which supports wireless Internet connection. In case of adding more Access Points to the network, additional switches would be required.

2. Private Wi-Fi (Private Service)

2.1 Qualifications

Private Wi-Fi Wireless Solution is a wireless Internet service installed at any places that organizations or entrepreneurs require a privacy of Internet surfing and mainly support internal Internet usage. KSC provides a server and management software to serve the customers’ requirements. Private Wi-Fi contains management features such as user authentication, authorization, quality management and report management, etc.

This service is suitable for organizations that require flexible Internet management in order to facilitate the employees or visitors who use wireless Internet. Organization is able to check history usage of each user complying with the Computer Crime Act B.E.2550.

Private Wi-Fi provides the systems to facilitate the solution’s management as following;

1. Prepaid and Postpaid User Management

• Able to set the package hourly, daily or monthly.
• Able to customize bandwidth of each package.
• Provide User Self Registration.
• Able to lock a username with a MAC Address (Lock Station.)
• Able to generate usernames automatically and print out on A4 paper or carbon paper.
• Able to create monthly usage report by billing system.

2. Report

• Current numbers of users.
• History usage of each user and usage summary.
• Graph of Internet usage traffic.
• Report of Prepaid and Postpaid users.

3. System Management

2.2 Required equipment

Required equipment for installing the Private Wi-Fi Wireless Solution is as following;

1. Wireless Access (Access Point)
   is equipment acting as a signal dispersion and connection point for any wireless devices (under IEEE 802.11 standard.) Effective Access Point can also do other function to enhance the wireless connection activity in order to highly fulfill your requirement.
2. Authentication Server
   is user’s database storage, stores users’ identification and other information such as Internet connection remaining time. The Authentication Server can be located in a network, separated from a hotspot gateway. For better management for a small network, a hotspot gateway and an Authentication Server can be located in the same server.
